Owner of Tattootlan, based in Salt Lake City, Sergio Reynoso was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico, and lived in the slums of Miravalle, a government housing complex. When he was 5 years old, he discovered that drawing was one of his favorite pastimes. At the age of 12, he started to tattoo on the neighborhood kids with a homemade machine powered by two D batteries. His ambition landed him in the U.S. where he worked many odd jobs including picking fields, yardman, and construction. With determination and plenty of hard work, Sergio was finally able to purchase a real tattoo machine and inks. After a few years, he started attending several tattoo conventions and shows meeting some of the top tattoo legends including Lyle Tuttle, Good Time Charlie and Jack Rudy. His love for his Mexican culture has helped Sergio build a multimedia portfolio with artworks using airbrushing, markers, color pencils, acrylics and, of course, tattoo ink. Many people in Salt Lake City collect his work. He has always been fascinated by Life and Death, so most of his work is portrayed as Day of the Dead images. Sergio's career as a tattoo artist has given him the title as one of the originators of the tattoo world in Mexico, and he is considered by many as an old-school legend.
