When Lowrider Arte teamed up with Crewest in Alhambra, California, it was the perfect blend of metal, art, paint and creativity. It was their intention to put on a show that would be like no other, and the end result was a display and show which utilized old and worn automotive hoods as the centerpieces and canvases for the one-day show.
Titled "Boyz on the Hood," this show was literally about the "hood." While Arte supplied the hoods, well-known artists such as Man One, Marak27, Victor Sepulveda, Asylum, Logan Hicks, Vval, Zoueh and Chaz Bajorquez supplied the creative visions behind each piece.
Each hood held its own creative passion and, within each, an element of design that seemed to have drawn its own fans. From murals of Eazy E to abstract designs, there was something for everyone at the show. Despite the show being held for just one day, those who missed out were able to check out the hoods as they were shipped off to the Orange County Fair where they were on display for a week.
